The Apartment Association of Orange County (AAOC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie Kaplan as the newest member of the Board of Directors. Kaplan was appointed by a unanimous vote of the board in June and was formally seated in July.
Kaplan has more than 25 years of experience in the multi-family housing industry, beginning her career as a leasing consultant and working her way up to regional property management for the better part of the past decade, with companies including Advanced Management Group, Western National Group, and ConAm Group of Companies.
In 2018, Kaplan founded NEXT Level Property Solutions, a full-service sustainability company that partners with multi-family property owners to manage their sustainability programs and match energy-saving products and incentives with facility upgrade projects. Kaplan’s goal is to help property owners realize operational efficiencies and savings, as well as savings on the upfront cost of project implementation.
As an actively involved volunteer and supporter of AAOC, Kaplan serves as co-chair of the AAOC Product & Service Council Committee and as a member of the Education Committee and Membership Committee. She also serves as an instructor for AAOC’s Certified Rental Housing Provider managers training course. Additionally, Kaplan is a licensed REALTOR® and a Certified Public Housing Manager, an active supporter of the National Apartment Association, a former consultant to the San Bernardino County Housing Authority, and a former board member of the Inland Fair Housing and Mediation Board, Inc.
Kaplan enjoys spending time with her family and is also an avid cyclist. A little-known fact is that she has completed three “century rides,” which involves riding distances of 100 miles or more.
While you’ll often see Kaplan at AAOC meetings and special events, you can also reach her at mariek@nextlevel-ps.com or www.nextlevel-ps.com.
